ARCHMedium 2014 RMCP competition entry - ScooP HQ

Joint entry for the ARCHMedium RMCP competition with Shoham Simchi.
The brief was to create a parking structure for 1000 scooters near Termini Station in Rome.

Focusing on the scooter as an integral part of the building, we tried to create a center that riders can be proud of.
A place to meet, a place to hang out and a place to admire two-wheeled works of art.

Our vision was to create a building design language that stems from the motorcycle industry in a very literal and fun way for it to be easily identifyable to riders - a supersized scooter. We chose the color palette and materials of classic Italian scooters to further highlight that connection.

These structures, when placed, in single or multiple forms, across the city, are meant to pay homage to all riders and their role in the development of Rome.
